Mannan Phenolic

Mannan is a polysaccharide of major significance.

• Some research indicates that healthy blood has less than 1 mg of mannan per 15 ml of serum.  Patients studied with chronic mucocutaneous Candidiasis had as much as 40 mg per 15 ml of serum.
• Other reports describe mannan's ability to inhibit lymphocyte proliferation.
• Still other articles report PMN inhibition — the agents necessary for killing Candida and a number of pathogenic bacteria.

Mannan is reported to constitute between 30% and 50% of the cell wall of Candida and numerous other yeasts, as well as some pathogenic bacteria.  In some individuals, it has been used as a substitute for Candida desensitization, with equal or — at times — better success.

Neutralization of Mannan has had a positive effect on all of the Candida symptomology; but, additionally, it is frequently effective on chronic hives and angio-edema.
